The FHSNL Resource Centre at 657 Topsail Road, St. John's, Newfoundland, has a wealth of information of interest to researchers of Newfoundland and Labrador genealogical information. The collection includes:
CEMETERY TRANSCRIPTIONS: These transcriptions comprise data from more than one thousand cemeteries in Newfoundland and Labrador. These transcriptions are available for personal research, or the database can be searched by a staff person for a fee.
PARISH REGISTERS: Parish register information includes St. Paul's Anglican Church in Trinity, Trinity Bay, the Roman Catholic Basilica in St. John's, the Anglican Cathedral in St. John's, several Bonavista Bay parishes, and some others. These registers are available for personal research, or the database can be searched by a staff person for a fee.
GERT CROSBIE and MILDRED HOWARD: These compilations of genealogical information from Newfoundland newspapers are available for perusal.
FAMILY HISTORIES: These documents, donated by members of FHSNL, provide researchers with information on several hundred family histories.
FAMILY HISTORY JOURNALS: These journals from about sixty societies in Canada and the rest of the world provide a wealth of genealogical information.
DIRECTORIES: A collection of Directories is available, including an indexed 1871 Lovell Directory.
CENSUS RECORDS: A small collection of census records is available.
GENERAL INFORMATION: There is a collection of books, periodicals and brochures on archives, museums, and heritage groups in the province. While the focus of the collection is on Newfoundland and Labrador, information is also available on genealogical associations in English and Irish counties as well as other Canadian provinces.
