The Carbonear Museum, located in the old railway station, provides a window on the town's fascinating history and is run by the Carbonear Heritage Society. The Museum has railway artifacts, community memorabilia and a permanent exhibit called "Going Foreign" which interprets the schooner trade between Carbonear and Atlantic and Mediterranean ports.
