Housed in the former crash-boat terminal for the first Trans Atlantic Passenger Flights, the Botwood Heritage Centre is dedicated chiefly to the preservation of the community’s heritage. Exhibits and artifacts reflect themes including Botwood’s involvement in World War II, the Botwood Cottage Hospital, the area’s early shipbuilding era, the Beothuck, and early European exploration and settlement of Exploits Bay. Recent exhibits also features the history of local industrial company Abitibi.
