2016 AGM & Conference

The Museum Association of Newfoundland and Labrador is excited to announce that our Annual General Meeting and Conference will be held from October 14th to October 15th, 2016 at the RAMADA HOTEL, ST. JOHN'S, Newfoundland and Labrador. This year's theme for the conference is:

"Funding Our Future: Preserving Our Past"

MANL's conference brings together museum professionals, volunteers, staff, students, and supporters with diverse backgrounds and interests from across Newfoundland and Labrador as well as Canada. The conference provides a comfortable environment for delegates to meet, share, and express ideas and topics of concern with one another.

MANL will be officially kicking off our 2016 AGM & Conference with a Reception Friday night, October 14th at the Basilica Museum on 200 Military Road in St. John's. Please join us for a members' update, refreshments, music and much more!

 Awards Nominations

We are looking for nominations for the following awards:

Award of Merit:

The Award of Merit recognizes significant contributions to the practice of museum and heritage work in Newfoundland and Labrador. It is awarded to an organization, agency, or individual for an outstanding, innovative or creative achievement in the museum, gallery or heritage field, or in any area related to the preservation and development of the provinces cultural heritage, including research, collection, documentation, exhibition, public programming and management.

Honorary Life Membership:

The Life Membership recognizes any outstanding contribution in heritage by an individual who has exemplified dedication to and promotion of museums in the province.

Note: Nomination will be adjudicated according to the merit of the Nominee.

Nomination package must contain sufficient information to illustrate the contributions of the Nominee to the preservation of Newfoundland's natural and cultural heritage. Please send any supporting material by mail, email or in person.

MANL is currently seeking donations for our silent auction, which can include physical items, gift cards or services. Also, to help support our AGM & Conference we are looking for sponsors to help assist in the success of this event.

As a sponsor you will receive:
• Company name and logo display on conference portion of MANL website as a bronze sponsor of the conference.
• Acknowledgement from podium during selected events.
• Company and logo displayed on some site power point presentations.

SILVER SPONSOR $500.00
As a sponsor you will receive all items included in the Bronze package as well as:
• Advertisement in conference program (Sponsor is required to provide digital artwork.)

• One year membership to MANL
